The Plaza is found near the centre of Kyustendil. A local museum is at the bottom of the Plaza, and the square (actually a 30x300m rectangle) extends away. At the other end of the square, there is the bottom of a street which contains the best restaurants, nightclubs and bars in the city, along with some other public businesses and general stores.
There is a police station at the far end of the Plaza to take care of any trouble makers, though usually there is little trouble in the Plaza.

During the summer months, ice cream vendors and other street sellers come out to sell their various products to the people on the streets. Crime is low, and there is never much of a police presence. Restaurants often extend out into the plaza, whilst a group of five or six stray cats roam around looking for scraps of food.

During the autumn and spring months, children gather to sing songs along the Plaza. During the winter, christmas celebrations go up and people gather for a feast on the street!

The Christmas lights have been switched on and everyone is buzzing for the festive season. Young couples in love hold hands as they wander down the street, lined with illuminations. In the Plaza, children wait for Father Christmas to invite them into his make shift cabin. Nearby, a skating rink has been set up, and people freely skate around. The restaurants have extended onto the streets, inviting people to enjoy a large evening meal. The shoppers drift in and out of stores, trying to find the perfect gift for their loved ones. The elderly have formed a band which is playing festive carols. Everyone seems so happy and excited for Christmas.

As Christmas draws ever closer, the people of Ranentsi become ever excited. Father Christmas is due to visit everyone this night, and so people are really in the mood for christmas. All the family are around, and in the Plaza in Kyustendil, the children skate in a specially constructed ice rink, whilst a bass band plays and happy people sing songs. All is well as the snow falls down upon them.

Christmas has gone and passed and the decorations are slowly being taken down. Slowly, because, as usual, the city is under a blanket of heavy snow. But that's what you get for being in a mountainous area. The city is becoming gloomy once again, whilst foxes try to take back the plaza in time for spring. The shops are trying to intice people back via the January sales, but it really isn't working too well.
